Ten new COVID-19 cases in the Hunter, exposure sites added

The Hunter has recorded another ten local COVID-19 cases, bringing the regions total to 285 since August  5.

The new local cases are in Fishing Point (1), Marmong Point (2), Morisset (1), Wyee Point (1), Kotara (1), New Lambton (1), Newcastle East (2) and Fern Bay (1).

Is of the new cases were infectious in the community, with three under investigation. Those cases are the ones in Fishing Point, Kotara, New Lambton, Newcastle East and Fern Bay.

Hunter New England Health says there is currently 538 close contacts in isolation and ten people are in hospital, including one in ICU.

Statewide, NSW recorded 1599 new cases and another eight deaths.

The state has surpassed 8 million vaccinations administered. This brings the total number of first doses to 77.3 per cent and double doses to 44.5 per cent of the eligible adult population.

A number of COVID exposure sites have been listed overnight including at Nelson Bay, Cardiff, Warners Bay and Mayfield.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

    • Tuesday 31 August between 5am - 2pm
    • Wednesday 1 September between 8am - 5pm
    • Thursday 2 September between 8am - 4pm
  • BWS, Cardiff on Friday 3 September between 10:35am - 10:45am
  • BWS, Warners Bay on Monday 6 September between 3:45 - 3:55pm
  • Services Australia, Nelson Bay on Monday 30 August between 9:25am - 9:45am & 2pm - 2:30pm
  • Chemist Warehouse, Mayfield on Thursday 9 September between 5:05pm - 5:25pm
