Police have set up a crime scene following a fatal pedestrian accident at Holmesville.
Emergency services were called to George Booth Drive at Withers Street at about 8.30am on Monday to reports a person had been hit by a truck.
Lake Macquarie Police say the pedestrian died at the scene.
George Booth Drive is closed in both directions.
Light vehicles are being diverted into Cameron Park Drive eastbound and Portland Drive westbound.
Eastbound heavy vehicles should also use Cameron Park Road and Newcastle Link Road, and westbound should use Minmi Road and the Link Road.
