All of the Hunters new COVID-19 cases infectious while in the community

The Hunters numbers are trending down with five new local COVID-19 cases recorded today.

The new cases were recorded in Nelson Bay (1), Chisolm (1), Macquarie Hills (1), Cardiff (1) and Toronto (1).

Concerningly, all of the new cases were infectious in the community. 

The new daily statistics show there are 105 active cases, 439 close contacts in isolation, eight people in isolation including one in intensive care.

A case in Armidale which was announced on Sunday has been ruled out and removed. With the new and removed cases, the regions total now sits at 232 since August 5.

State wide, NSW recorded 1281 cases and another four deaths.

A number of new exposure sites have been listed by health authorities including at Shoal Bay, Taylors Beach, Beresfield and Thornton.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received. 

  • Cellarbrations Bottleshop, Shoal Bay Country Club on Monday 30 August between 4:40pm - 4:50pm and Wednesday 1 September between 3:05pm - 3:10pm
  • Bunnings, Taylors Beach on Friday 27 August between 3:55pm - 4:30pm and Wednesday 1 September between 10:35am to 10:45am
  • Subway, Thornton on Friday 3 September between 1:20pm - 1:30pm
  • BP Beresfield, John Renshaw Drive on Friday 3 September from 1:20pm - 1:30pm
