14 new COVID-19 cases in the Hunter, half infectious in the community

The Hunter has recorded another 14 new local COVID cases, bringing the regions total to 324 since August 5.

The new cases have been detected across Port Stephens, Singleton, Maitland, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle.

By suburb the cases are from Mayfield (5), North Lambton (1), Wallsend (1), Wangi Wangi (2), Wyee Point (1), Singleton (2), Tenambit (1) and Raymond Terrace (1).

Seven of the new cases were infectious in the community, while ten of them are linked to existing cases.

Statewide, NSW recorded 1127 cases and a further two deaths.

78.8 percent of eligible NSW residents have received one dose of a COVID vaccine, while 46.5 are fully vaccinated.

A number of COVID exposure sites have been listed overnight including at Hamilton, Anna Bay, Toronto, Glendale and Salamander Bay.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days.

  • Oasis Village Kebab Shop, Hamilton on Friday 10 September between 7:05pm - 7:25pm

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received. 

  • IGA, Anna Bay on Tuesday 7 September between 11:35am - 11:45am
  • Aldi, Toronto on Thursday 9 September between 9:20am - 9:30am
  • Coles, Stockland Glendale on Wednesday 8 September between 3:30pm - 3:50pm & 5:30pm - 5:45pm
  • Coles, Salamander Bay on Sunday 5 September between 7:25pm - 7:35pm
  • Coles, Toronto on
    • Tuesday 7 September between 1:15pm - 1:35pm
    • Thursday 9 September between 9:35am - 10:05am
