Crews Monitoring Redhead Bushfire

BY IAN CROUCH

It's believed a bushfire at Redhead may have been deliberately lit.

15 fire trucks and a water bombing helicopter were called in to tackle the blaze off Seasands Drive on Thursday afternoon.

It was initially believed the fire was sparked from a nearby hazard reduction and ecological burn at Jewells.

The fire is under control but is still burning in an inaccessible area within about 20 hectares of bushland and crews are still patrolling the fire ground.

Meanwhile, RFS crews have contained a fire which burnt through about 2 hectares of bush off the Hunter Expressway at Branxton early Friday morning.
