Fairfax reports Trevor Simmons was riding along the New England Highway near the Palm Valley Motel at about 9am on Monday October 9 when he was struck from behind by a vehicle, sending him crashing to the bottom of an embankment.
The 65-year-old suffered a fractured hip and has patches of skin missing from all over his body - it was an hour before he was discovered unconscious.
