Labor Promises to Extend Preschool Access to 3 Year Olds

BY OLIVIA WILSON-WHEELER

A Shorten-Labor Government will introduce subsidised access to preschool for three-year-olds.

The National Preschool and Kindy Program will build upon Labor's preschool scheme for four-year-olds and invest $1.75 billion into early education.

Federal Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon says the Program will help kids get the best start to learning.

"We know children do most of their learning in their earliest years and we want to ensure that every child regardless of their parental income has that opportunity."

Labor has promised to implement the program by 2021 if successful in the upcoming election.
