Fire crews are at the scene of a hay shed fire at Muswellbrook.
Firefighters from Muswellbrook and Aberdeen along with an RFS crew were called to a property on Kayuga Road at 5.20am on Wednesday to find the 10 by 5 metre shed well alight.
The landowner is using a tractor to help separate the hay bales so firefighters can get to the seat of the fire.
It's come as drought-stricken farmers are paying around $600 a tonne for hay to feed their stock.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
