Sod Turned for Rutherford's New Ambulance Station

BY CHELSEA EDWARDS

NSW Ambulance and state government representatives have today turned the first sod on
Rutherford's new ambulance station.

The $3.8 million upgrades were approved in June, with design inspiration coming from the local community and will feature facilities that are a major improvement on the current station.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald says "It will be quite a large ambulance station with seven emergency ambulance vehicle spots, administration, amenities, logistics and storage area, wash bay, staff parking and an education and training facility.

"We will start work soon and will be finished about the middle of next year".

The new station will help paramedics to improve current and future mobile emergency care needs of Rutherford and surrounding communities.
