The Hunter's Westpac Rescue helicopter has been called to winch an injured teenager out of bushland near Armidale overnight.
The chopper was called to an area known as the Blue Hole at about 6.00pm on Sunday where the 19-year-old had fallen down a gorge while bushwalking with friends, landing half in the water.
His friends raised the alarm, with the SES, paramedics and the rescue helicopter responding to the call.
A clinical team was winched down to treat the injured teen.
The 19-year-old was stretcher winched to safety and flown to Armidale Hospital in a stable condition suffering back and lower limb injuries.
