A truck driver has been airlifted to hospital with leg injuries after a bad crash on the Pacific Highway at Karuah.
Emergency services were called to the highway about 1 kilometre south of the Tarean Road exit just before 3 this morning where they found a refrigerated b-double truck had overturned and the driver was trapped.
A second b-double Coles truck was also involved in the crash.
A large amount of debris and goods from both trucks, including a small amount of hazardous items was strewn across the highway.
The trucks have been shifted to the median strip and a contra flow is in place, however it's expected to take some time to clear the site with a Coles team from Queensland also en route to the scene.
