The 2018 Offshore Superboat Championships will return to Lake Macquarie's waterways as part of the area's Big Weekend of events.
In addition to the Superboat racing, the weekend will feature artisan markets, music performances, aerobic displays, vintage cars and a food and wine festival.
Event organiser, Conn Saloumidis says the Big Weekend is expected to generate more than 10 million dollars in direct and flow-on revenue for Lake Macquarie businesses,
'The Big Weekend is a free, family-friendly community event which will attract more than 1000 people from around the state and country providing a significant boost to the local economy
This is going to be the biggest event in Superboat racing in Australia ever."
