A prisoner has escaped from St Helier's Correctional Centre at Muswellbrook this morning.
Around 6am, Hunter Valley Police were informed 41-year-old Robert Grover had broken out of the minimum security facility.
Mr Grover is described as being Caucasian, 170cm tall, with a medium build and brown hair.
Police believe he might be on the way to Gunnedah.
The prison break comes only a week after police arrested 18-year-old escapee inmate Jake Nunn from Cessnock Correctional Centre.
Mr Nunn was found hiding in the closet of a home on Scott Street, Cessnock after being on the run for a fortnight.
Anyone who sees Robert Grover should not approach, but rather call Triple Zero immediately.
