Hundreds of competitors, and tourists from around the world will travel to the Hunter for the Port Stephens Pro Surfing competition, with some of world's best female surfers hitting the waves.
Boasting perfect surfing conditions, Port Stephens is set to receive a major boost in the local economy as a result of the world-class event being held from the 8th to the 13th of November.

"You have just the most picturesque, idyllic conditions with the bay, numerous opportunities with the coastal walks and other tourism activities that can be undertaken in the area, and just fantastic accommodation and beautiful food," said Port Stephens Duty MLC Catherine Cusack.
"It really is an opportunity for the whole region, all of this gets showcased during this event."
The competition is seen as a crucial final hurdle for many surfers hoping to make the World Surf League Championship tour for 2019, as well a perfect chance for up and comers to test their skill.
"The event itself also offers some opportunities for the juniors and for the amateurs...it gives them an opportunity to participate in global conditions...it's a really great opportunity for all the junior and local surfers as well," said Cusack.
The competition is just one of many events on the packed calender for the Hunter this Summer.
"It comes really a few days before we also have the 500 happening in Newcastle, so there's a large number of premier international sporting events occurring in the Hunter," said Cusack.
"Destination NSW really wants to establish the Hunter in that way, as a place of choice for all world sporting organisations."
