South Cardiff Football Club Receive $135K Boost

BY OLIVIA WILSON-WHEELER

South Cardiff Football Club will receive over $135,000 to repair Ulinga Sporting Complex's playing surface.

The Complex will receive an underground irrigation system and a redone surface.

The funding comes as part of the 2015 Asian Cup Legacy Fund, which is supporting 19 local club projects.

The Club's vice president, Max McCorkell says that because of a lack of money "we had to go to the Asian cup for some money to upgrade the fields."

"We have a large percentage of older players and it was just a bit dangerous for them to be training and we couldn't play on those fields..."

"So, two wasted fields that we're now going to turn into playable areas."

"Thanks very much to Northern NSW Football and Football NSW and everybody because it'll be a real game-changer for South Cardiff Football Club."
