It's a sad day for the friends and family of 19-year-old West Wallsend man, Jaryd Hayter, who has passed away a fortnight after a Tomago workplace accident.

The West Wallsend Football Club confirmed the death on their Facebook page this morning, describing Jaryd as "a brilliant young footballer and an even more remarkable young man."

Jaryd suffered significant injuries on Thursday, August 23 after falling around 40 feet from a roof while installing solar panels at a workplace on Old Punt Road.
