The Windale community is still coming to grips with the alleged stabbing murder of one of their residents.
Police say two men aged 29 and 39 became involved in an argument at a home unit in Butler Place on Saturday night and one the men lashed out.
The 29-year-old suffered stab wounds to the chest and torso and later died in the John Hunter Hospital.
A 39-year-old man is due to face Newcastle Local Court today charged with murder.
