Ground broken for Muswellbrook TAFE accomodation

Member for the Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon today broke ground on a new residential student accommodation at the Muswellbrook TAFE campus.

The Federal Government contributed $2.7 million to the $5 million project to house students on campus.

Hunter MP Joel Fitzgibbon said the accommodation is part of an investment package into Hunter industry.

"This investment is on top of the money we've put into the mining skills centre in Muswellbrook and indeed the upgrade to the automotive workshop which has a focus on heavy equipment in the mining industry.

"This whole package is about maximising opportunities for local kids to train for the mining industry, but also to provide the skills the mining industry needs," he said.
