Emergency crews are working around the Hunter and Central Coast to safely restore power where they can.
Power has been restored to about 600 homes and businesses around Chain Valley Bay, while power is still out to about 90 homes in Catherine Hill Bay.
Assessments done have found more than 20 poles will need to be replaced around the Pacific Highway, Kanangra Drive, Clarke Street and Flowers Drive.
Crews are working as safely as possible in difficult conditions to get the power back to homes as soon as possible.
