The bush fires burning across the state have claimed the life of a Lake Munmorah man.
The 63 year-old was trying to protect his home on Carters Road from the flames when he suffered a heart attack.
Emergency services performed CPR at the scene, before transporting him to Wyong Hospital where he later died.
Police are investigating the death for the Coroner.
