An Industrial Relations Commission Hearing into staff shortages at the John Hunter Hospital has been called off following encouraging talks yesterday.
The dispute is before the Commission after Hunter New England Health successfully applied to prevent theatre staff from carrying out industrial action earlier this week.
The Nurses Association has accused the Health Service of failing to fill 7 theatre nurse positions and relying on overtime to meet required staff ratios.
However, tomorrow's hearing in the IRC has been postponed after management guaranteed to have all the positions filled by the end of the month.
