The Hunter makes up a one quarter of the states 407 COVID-19 cases

The Hunter's daily COVID-19 case numbers have soared into triple digits with 103 recorded on Thursday.

The new cases are spread right across the region in Tamworth, Newcastle, Cessnock, Lake Macquarie, Mid-Coast, Maitland, Port Stephens and Gunnedah local government areas.

41 were infectious in the community, 79 are linked to existing cases and 21 are being cared for in hospital, including four in ICU.

TAMWORTH - 19

Tamworth 8, Oxley Vale 7, South Tamworth 3 and West Tamworth 1.

NEWCASTLE - 18

Lambton 4, Wallsend 3, Bar Beach 3, Mayfield 2, Merewether 2, Maryland 1, Stockton 1, Fletcher 1 and Jesmond 1.

CESSNOCK - 16

Branxton 5, Cessnock 4, Greta 2, Abermain 1, Cliftleigh 1, East Branxton 1, Kearsley 1 and Weston 1.

LAKE MACQUARIE - 15

Windale 3, Barnsley 2, Belmont 2, Macquarie Hills 2, Belmont North 1, Charlestown 1, Cooranbong 1, Edgeworth 1, Gateshead 1 and Warners Bay 1.

MID-COAST - 13

Taree 9, Forster 3 and Glenthorne 1.

STATWIDE

NSW has recorded 407 new cases and six deaths on Thursday.

Vaccination rates are at 76.5 per cent double dose and 91.1 per cent single dose.

EXPOSURE SITES

A number of COVID exposure sites have been listed overnight including at New Lambton Heights, Cessnock, Rutherford, Wallsend and Raymond Terrace.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

• The Chemist, Cessnock on Tuesday 5 October between 8:30am - 8:40am

• Laverty Pathology, Wallsend on Friday 8 October between 9:40am - 10am
• Raymond Terrace Respiratory Clinic on Tuesday 5 October between 6:55pm - 7:30pm
