82 new local COVID-19 cases recorded across the Hunter, concerning numbers in Windale

The Hunter has recorded another spike in COVID-19 case numbers with 82 announced on Monday.

47 of the new local cases were infectious in the community, 62 are linked to existing cases and 24 are being cared for in hospital, including 3 in ICU.

STATWIDE

As Hunter case numbers spike, statewide numbers are declining, recording another drop on Monday. NSW Health says 496 cases were detected and eight people died with the virus in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday night.

90.3 per cent of eligible adults have had their first dose of a COVID vaccine, 73.5 per cent fully vaccinated.


EXPOSURE SITES

A number of COVID exposure sites have been listed overnight including at Aberdeen, Paterson and Scone.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

  • Aberdeen Bowling Club on Wednesday 6 October between 6pm - 7:40pm
  • Paterson Medical Practice on Thursday 30 September between 11am - 11:20am
  • Scone Bowling Club on Tuesday 5 October between 12:40pm - 4:50pm
