Cessnock makes up a quarter of the Hunter's 78 new COVID-19 cases

The Hunter has recorded 78 new cases of COVID-19 across the region.

These cases have been recorded in the Cessnock, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Mid-Coast, Port Stephens, Maitland and Tamworth local government areas.

38 of the new cases were infectious in the community, 54 are linked to existing cases and 19 of the total active cases are being cared for in hospital, including four in ICU.

STATWIDE

NSW has recorded 444 new local cases and four deaths in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday night.

The state has passed 75 per cent double vaccination, with 75.2 per cent of the eligible adult population now fully vaccinated. That's three in four people. 90.8 per cent have received one dose.

A number of COVID exposure sites have been listed overnight including at Singleton, Kurri Kurri, Medowie, Maitland, Windale and Raymond Terrace

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.
