Hunter's daily COVID-19 case numbers inching closer to 100

The Hunter has had another record day of COVID-19 case numbers with 97 announced on Friday.

The new cases are spread across the Lake Macquarie, Cessnock, Maitland, Tamworth, Newcastle, Mid-Coast, Singleton Port Stephens and Gunnedah local government areas.

34 of the new local cases were infectious in the community, 65 are linked to existing cases and 30  are being cared for in hospital, including four in ICU.

CESSNOCK - 23

STATWIDE

NSW recorded 646 new local cases and 11 deaths.

The vaccination rates have climbed up to 89.4 per cent single dose and 70.3 double dose.


EXPOSURE SITES

A number of COVID exposure sites have been listed overnight including at Lorn, Pokolbin and Singleton.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the specified dates and times is considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

  • H Boutique Hotel, Pokolbin on Wednesday 22 September from 2pm until Friday 1 October 11am

    • Thursday 30 September between 4:30pm - 7:30pm
