Supermarket Heist

A man has escaped with cash during a brazen hold-up on a Lake Macquarie supermarket.

Police say the man walked into the Coles Store at the Bonnells Bay Shopping Centre around 9 last night and demanded cash from a female employee at knife point.

He was given cash from the til and ran off towards Pearson Street.

Police later found the grey hoodie he was wearing and a knife discarded in a rubbish bin.

He's described as being about 30 years-old, 183 centimetres tall with dark hair and facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie with the brand Saucony across the chest and dark blue track pants with a white stripe down the leg.
