A man has had a lucky escape after becoming trapped in an abandoned building in Newcastle.
The 38-year-old was with a number of other men searching for scrap metal in the King Street building on Saturday afternoon when he dislodged a lump of concrete, which trapped his left arm.
His companions abandoned him.
Police later found the man asleep, but still trapped under the block of concrete.
