A report is being prepared for the Coroner into a fatal smash at Mayfield.
A Mitsubish Lancer travelling west on Industrial Drive was clipped in the rear by a Holden Commodore travelling in the same direction just before 9.30 last night.
The collision forced the Lancer off the road and into a power pole.
The 51-year-old female driver died at the scene. The male driver of the Commodore was taken for mandatory blood and urine tests.
