Hunter Teachers Fear Job Cuts

By Jacob Stuart

The Teachers Federation fears plans to axe public service jobs could lead to massive job losses in the Hunter.

The NSW Opposition claim the proposed cut of 2400 education jobs from the state would equate to a loss of 240 school and TAFE jobs from the region.

The union claims the changes will hit the Hunter region over the next four years, which will also see cuts to funding for demountable school buildings and education access services for migrants and disadvantaged groups.
