Earth moving equipment worth thousands of dollars has been destroyed in an overnight arson attack at Buchanan.
Police and fire crews were called to the Hunter Expressway construction site near Avery's Lane just after 8.30 last night to find two excavators well alight and another already destroyed by fire.
Other heavy vehicles parked at the construction site were also damaged by fire.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
