UPDATE! Manhunt Continues For Escapee At Singleton

Police have stepped up their search for Jay Mason, who escaped from police custody at Singleton Police Station on Wednesday.

Police say there have been reported sightings of the 26-year-old overnight in the Singleton and Muswellbrook areas.

They're urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the wanted man immediately to Singleton Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A manhunt is underway after a man escaped from police custody at Singleton.

26-year-old Jay Mason, who's wanted on outstanding warrants, managed to escape from officers at Singleton Police Station at about 2.30pm on Wednesday.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 200 centimetres tall with a thin build and brown short hair and has a Jim Beam tattoo on his back, an RIP tattoo on his arm and a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm.

He was last seen shirtless, wearing navy blue shorts with a floral print and white ankle socks.
