Firefighters have been kept busy this morning with separate bushfires at Pelican and Marks Point.
Crews from Belmont and Swansea were called to Soldiers Road at 1.50am on Friday to an area of bush alight near Lake Macquarie Airport - it took about 2 hours to extinguish.
While they were there they noticed another fire break out on the other side of the airport off Naru Street at about 3 o'clock.
Crews from Belmont, Swansea and Tingira Heights have just extinguished the fire.
No properties were under threat at any stage.
