UPDATE: Woman Flees Single Car Crash At Kurri Kurri

Police are looking for a 30-year-old woman they believe can assist with their inquiries into a single vehicle roll-over at Kurri Kurri early today.

The woman was driving a Blue Holden Commodore Station Wagon which overturned at the roundabout on Lang and Mitchell Streets just after 1.30am on Thursday and slammed into a power pole and an RMS signal box.

Initial reports suggested the woman was trapped along with her 25-year-old male passenger, however she managed to free herself and ran off.

The passenger remained at the scene and spoke to police when they arrived.

Police are urging the woman, who they believe may be injured, to hand herself in.

Police are looking for the driver of a car involved in a spectacular crash at Kurri Kurri early on Thursday.

A Holden Commodore station wagon overturned and crashed into an RMS signal box and a pedestrian traffic light at the corner of Mitchell and Lang Streets at about 1.45am.

Fire crews raced to the scene to reports a female driving the car was trapped and a large amount of fuel was leaking from the vehicle.

However, when emergency services arrived, the woman had fled - a search by the dog squad failed to find her.
