The Newcastle Link Road is closed to Westbound traffic after a truck crash near the Minmi Road roundabout at Cameron Park.
The semi-trailer was carrying a load of scrap metal and around 800 litres of diesel when it rolled at the roundabout at about 9:30am.
Newcastle Fire and Rescue's HAZMAT crew are mopping up a small diesel spill and say the clean-up is going to plan.
The 29-year old male driver suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
Motorists travelling west can use Lake Road, Main Road, George Booth Drive and Cameron Park Drive to re-join Newcastle Link Road.
Eastbound traffic is very heavy as a result of the crash and is queued back to Cameron Park Drive.
