The search for a swimmer reported missing off Newcastle Beach has been suspended after the man has reportedly been found safe and well on land around the Newcastle Baths area.

The search continues for a swimmer reported missing off Newcastle Beach early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Ocean Baths at about 3.00am following reports a man had entered the water but did not return.
Water Police and the Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter are searching the water between Merewether and Stockton Beaches, however the search is being hampered by challenging weather conditions.
