Teenager Knifed During Fight At Cooranbong

A Wyee man is due to front court today accused of inflicting a severe knife wound on a teenage boy.

Police say the man and the 16-year-old know each other and starting fighting outside an address on Freemans Drive yesterday afternoon.

It's alleged the 23-year-old punched the boy several times in the head then held a small knife to his throat, using the weapon to inflict a nasty gash down the side of his face before he left.

The boy was rushed to Gosford Hospital for treatment.

Detectives commenced inquiries and later arrested and charged a 23-year-old man at Belmont Police Station.

He's been refused bail to appear in Toronto Local Court today charged with reckless wounding .
