One Dead And Two Injured In Singleton Smash

One person has died and two others have been injured in a two car smash at Singleton.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of  Mitchell Line Road and Range Road just after 7.30am today.

The driver of one of the cars, a 63-year-old man, died at the scene.

Two other people, a 32-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were trapped in the wreckage for some time before being released.

They've been flown to the John Hunter Hospital by the Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter - the man has leg injuries while the woman has suspected spinal injuries.

Mitchell Line Road remains closed in both directions with diversions in place.
