 BY IAN CROUCH

A garage has been severely damaged in an overnight fire near Singleton.

Firefighters were called to a home on Long Point Road just before 7.30pm on Sunday to find smoke pouring from the attached garage.

It's taken about two hours to extinguish and mop up the fire which caused extensive damage to the garage and smoke damage to the house.

The owner was out at the time and Police say the fire is not being treated as suspicious.

It's estimated the damage bill from the fire will top $150,000.

Meanwhile, an investigation is under way into a fire which destroyed a car in the driveway of a home at Ridley Street Edgeworth just after 3.00am on Monday.
