Updated! Hunter Valley Police Investigating Overnight Shooting

  Hunter Valley Police are investigating an overnight shooting.

A 43-year-old man was dropped off at Scone Hospital after 4.00am on Tuesday morning with gunshot wounds to the leg and ankle and is being transported to John Hunter Hospital.

The man was reportedly approached by two men in a white sedan near Wingen driving north along the New England Highway around midnight.

Police have been told the injured driver was involved in an altercation with the pair before a number of shots were fired and the two men fled.

The driver allegedly drove to a friends house in Blandford before being taken to hospital

Officers form the Hunter Valley Police District are continuing their inquiries surrounding how the man sustained his injuries around the northern parts of Scone and are asking anyone with information to contact Police or Crime Stoppers
