An elderly man has died in hospital after crashing his mobility scooter at Cooranbong.
Police say passers-by rushed to the aid of the man after his scooter ran off a footpath and rolled 6 metres down an embankment into a creek below Freemans Drive on Saturday afternoon.
He was taken to the John Hunter Hospital with hip and rib injuries but sadly died yesterday.
Inquiries are continuing.
