BY ISABEL EVERETT

A man was flown to John Hunter Hospital on Tuesday morning, after he suffered a stab wound while opening a bag of fish food at a fish farm in Salamander Bay.

Just after 11am, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by Ambulance crews to a local fish farm to reports an 18-year-old man was suffering from a single stab wound to this thigh.

Paramedics arrived on scene and commenced treatment prior to the arrival of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team.

The man was stabilised on scene prior to being flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
