A woman is fighting for life in the John Hunter Hospital after a bad crash at Limeburners Creek.
Police say the 51-year-old from Newcastle was heading north on the Bucketts Way at about 5.30pm on Wednesday when her Hyundai SUV left the road and travelled for 30 metres before rolling and slamming into a tree.
Passers-by pulled the woman unconscious from the car.
She was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital by the Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a serious condition with multiple injuries.
Police say the woman may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
