Five Arrested in Hunter Drug Bust

BY KAYNE STEPHENS

A months-long investigation has led to the arrest of three men and two women over the supply of methylampthetamine in the Hunter.

Officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police Proactive Crime Team began investigating the supply of prohibited drugs in May this year.

Four search warrants were carried out at homes in Raymond Terrace, Mallabula, Anna Bay and Singleton yesterday.

Police say they seized methylamphetamine, cannabis, drug paraphernalia, weapons, and mobile phones during the searches.

Three men aged 24, 45, and 52 and two women aged 46 and 51 were arrested in the police operation.

Two men arrested at Raymond Terrace Police Station were refused bail and charged with drug and participation in criminal group offences.

A 51-year-old woman was charged with drug offences and granted conditional bail to appear in court on 31 August.

A 46-year-old Singleton woman is also facing firearms charges and was granted bail to face court later this month.

Vision of the police search is available on the 2NUR-FM Hunter News Facebook page.
