A man is due to front court on ammunition charges after a dramatic arrest at East Maitland overnight.
Police went to home on Blackett Close at about 9.30pm on Sunday to speak to a man wanted over a break and enter at Wickham in November last year.
A 35-year-old man ran from the house when they arrived - he was arrested after a short foot pursuit on Mitchell Drive.
It's alleged a search of the area uncovered a black satchel bag containing 40 rounds of .22 calibre ammunition, a spent shell casing and three air rifle pellets.
He's been refused bail to due to face Maitland Local Court today (Monday 24 August 2020) charged with possessing ammunition without a licence and special aggravated break and enter with intent to commit serious indictable offence.
