Pair Arrested Over Mail Thefts From Newcastle Unit Complexes

BY IAN CROUCH

Newcastle Police have arrested two people over a series of mail thefts from city unit complexes last month.

It's alleged a man and woman used credit cards stolen during the thefts to make fraudulent transactions.

Police went to a unit in Watkins Street yesterday and arrested a 27-year-old woman - they say a number of items related to the mail thefts and stolen property were also found.

Officers then arrested a 24-year-old man at a home in Callen Street Stockton.

They've both been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court next month.
