Emergency Services Called To Several Serious Crashes In The Hunter

Emergency services have been kept busy with several serious crashes on Hunter roads overnight.

A 20-year-old woman has been airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in an induced coma with spinal injuries after the car she was a passenger in, crashed into a tree on Bushells Ridge Road at Wyee.

The 25-year-old male driver was also taken to hospital.

A 3 car crash also caused traffic delays on the Hunter Expressway near John Renshaw Drive.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man suffered head injuries when his car crashed into a power pole at the intersection of Withers Street and Fegan Street, West Wallsend just after 9.30pm on Thursday.

He was trapped for a short time before being released and taken to the John Hunter is a serious condition.

And a 28-year-old man has been charged with mid range drink driving after crashing his car into a stationary caravan on Tibbin Street at Kahibah.
