UPDATE! Police Seeking Assistance to Find Missing Woman in Lake Macquarie

A woman reported missing from her Teralba home has been found dead at Wakefield.

Police are yet to formally identify the body which was found near a car on a fire trail on Monday afternoon with the assistance of the Polair helicopter.

It's believed to be that of 54-year-old Michelle Post.

Police say while inquires into the discovery are continuing, the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from the Lake Macquarie region.

Michelle Post, aged 54, was last seen leaving her home on Rhondda Road in Teralba at about 11.10am on Saturday the 1st of February 2020.

Ms Post is reported to have left her home in her white Toyota Rav 4 station wagon, with NSW registration DKQ16J.

Michelle is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 160-165cm tall with a medium build and short brown hair.

She was last seen wearing thongs, a pink singlet with black shorts and was carrying a large brown handbag.

Lake Macquarie Police District have commenced an investigation, with police and her family concerned for her welfare.
