Forensic police have been able to link a man charged over the theft of a bicycle at Hamilton with the alleged theft of power tools.
Police say the 50-year-old was found in possession of the bike on Glebe Road at The Junction last month and charged with goods in custody.
Forensic analysis of a crime scene at a Merewether break-in allegedly linked the man to the crime.
A search of a Patrick Street unit yesterday allegedly uncovered power tools and other items stolen during the break-in.
Police arrested the man at a building site on Ring Road, Newcastle a short time later.
He's been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today (Wednesday 5 February) charged with break, enter and steal, goods in custody, dispose of stolen property (x2), and make false statement to pawnbroker (x3).
