A Hamilton South man has suffered a terrible fright this morning, with a home invasion at his Fowler Street unit.
The 55-year-old woke to a knock at the door around 1am, and opened it to find a man wielding a knife, who then forced his way inside.
Police allege the intruder assaulted the occupant multiple times and knocked him to the ground before making off with a small sum of cash.
The resident attempted to chase the man, but he got away.
