Woman Cheats Anti Drink Drive Device At Maitland

BY IAN CROUCH

A woman will have a date in court after she was allegedly caught high range drink driving at Maitland.

A passer-by called police after becoming concerned about the woman, who was found slumped over the wheel on Morpeth Road at about 10.00pm on Sunday with the keys in the car and the engine running.

Police allege the woman in her 40's had started drinking after blowing sober into an Interlock Device in order to start her car.

Courts order Interclock Devices be fitted to cars of people with a history of repeat offending when it comes to drink driving.
